Hatties Hero’s

Myself & my wife Charlotte’s beautiful baby daughter Hattie sadly passed away in September last year at just 12 weeks old. Hattie had a rare genetic disorder called Mitochondrial Disease. Mitochondria are effectively the power stations of the body. If they don’t function properly and produce enough energy for the body’s cells, then mitochondria dysfunction occurs. Mitochondria exist in nearly every cell of the human body and create 90% of the energy you need to sustain life and support organ function. Mitochondrial diseases are long-term, genetic and life limiting with very few treatments and currently no cure. Together with Lily, Jamie, Will, Thom & Sam we are attempting the 3 Peaks challenge in just 24 hours in order to raise money in Hattie’s memory for The Lily Foundation. The Lily Foundation are a charity whose main aims are to educate, inform & raise awareness about Mito. They fund scientific research into Mito in order to find treatments & ultimately a cure. And finally they provide support to patients & families like us who have been affected by Mito.
