Our names are Max and Locky - 2 of the 3 Wright brothers (shout out Harley) - and we will be completing the 3 Peaks Challenge this July. To make this day more than just a long walk with lots of driving (shout out Dad), we decided to raise money for both Cancer Research UK, & the Endangered Rhino Conservation - two causes that are close to our hearts. All of the money that’s been raised will be split evenly and then donated to the charities, so if either cause resonates with you, please donate!
Fundraising pageLocky on Cancer Research UK: Most people have had some affiliation with cancer during their life. This reality has unfortunately hit home again with a close friend recently being diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer at just 24 years of age. Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer charity, helping to prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise current treatments. They work to treat cancers like his and are pushing to beat cancers once and for all. Max on Endangered Rhino Conservation: In the early 20th Century there may have been as few as 20 southern white rhinos surviving. Thanks to the brilliant work of conservationists such as Ian Player in the 50s and 60s though, the species was brought back from the brink of collapse. Yet less than 80 years after one of the greatest ever conservation success stories, we are incredibly close to seeing complete extinction as result of ruthless poaching syndicates. I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time with these beautiful animals and some of the remarkable people who work so hard to protect them, and would love to help support them any way I can.
