Team Marwa

My friends and I embarked on a incredible journey just a few days ago. On Saturday, June 17th, at 5:20 p.m., we set out on the challenging 24-hour UK 3 Peaks Trek with the goal of raising funds for Marwa Relief, a charity dedicated to supporting the victims of Yemen. The trek was no easy feat, as we faced the daunting task of conquering the three formidable peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon. Despite the physical and mental challenges along the way, our determination and camaraderie remained unyielding. We knew that our efforts would make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected in Yemen. I am thrilled to share that we successfully completed the trek on Sunday, June 18th, at 4:45 p.m., just twenty-five minutes short of the 24-hour mark. The moment we stood atop Snowdon, filled with a sense of accomplishment and purpose, was truly unforgettable. We had pushed ourselves to the limit and emerged victorious, knowing that our perseverance would bring hope to those in need. What makes our achievement even more remarkable is that we self-funded the entire endeavor. As a close-knit group of friends, we shared a common desire to ensure that every penny donated would directly benefit the Yemeni victims. Therefore, we chose to support Marwa Relief, a charity with a 100% donation policy, guaranteeing that the funds raised would make a significant difference in the lives of those affected. In a world where corporate sponsorships often dominate fundraising efforts, we wanted to emphasize the power of personal commitment and the ability of ordinary individuals to effect change. We took it upon ourselves to make a difference, without relying on external sponsors or endorsements. Our goal was to inspire others to contribute to charitable causes or undertake their own philanthropic endeavours, no matter how big or small.
