Fundraising for Jaxson Potts The Superhero

They are raising vital awareness of Jackson’s condition and funds that will go towards his much needed therapies. Jaxson was born with Prader Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition effecting between 15,000-20,000 people. The diagnosis came as a complete shock to the first-time parents who welcomed Jax during the pandemic. PWS effects every part of his body and he faces many challenges every single day past, present and future. Jaxson has hypotonia (poor muscle tone). At birth he was unable to move his arms and legs. This also effects feeding, breathing, speech, eyesight and key development milestones. In Jaxson’s first months of life, he suffered numerous chocking incidents and breathing difficulties. Other PWS side effects are poor temperature regulation, high pain threshold, weak bones, inability to vomit, sleep apnoea/obstructive sleep apnoea, strabismus, breathing difficulties, delayed milestones, speech difficulties/ apraxia, mild too moderate learning difficulties, curvature of the spine. Those with PWS need regular therapies and medical interventions throughout their lives. Jaxson has come a long way since birth and that is down too his incredible determination but also because he has been accessing private physio therapies weekly. Parents of Jaxson are trying to fundraise for Jaxson’s future therapies which include - 3-week intense physio blocks at “The Napa Centre, Texas America”. Costing £6000, per therapy block - Hydrotherapy - Speech and language therapy - Physiotherapy. Therapy is vital in helping Jaxson reach his milestones and to be given the chance to thrive. The NHS provide physio sessions for Jax once a month but unfortunately this just isn’t enough. Also due to the pandemic appointments are delayed and limited. The lads have set themselves an incredible challenge which is selfless of them, a challenge Jax will be forever grateful for. The ongoing support “Jax The Superhero” receives is truly heart-warming and is paving a brighter future for him. So please if you can, share the lads challenge, help raise important awareness for those with Prader Willi Syndrome and if you can donate what you can. The support will cheer these men on because they most definitely deserve it. The 3 peaks challenge takes place on 23rd July 2021
