Fundraising for Wood Street Mission and Blackburn Youth Zone

We will be completing the challenge on behalf of Wood Street Mission and Blackburn Youth Zone. Wood Street Mission are based in Manchester City Centre. The charity is this year celebrating its 150 years of providing support to disadvantaged children in Manchester and Salford. Having worked with the charity previously, they provide phenomenal support to children throughout the year, providing Easter eggs at Easter and Christmas boxes and Christmas as just 2 examples of the notable times they help families throughout the year to ensure that disadvantaged children are able to experience things they would not experience without Wood Street Missions help. Blackburn Youth Zone support children in and around the area with over 1,000 young people visiting the centre each week. It acts as a hub to the community to improve the local area and the cohesion, skills, aspirations, health and wellbeing of those coming through the doors. As well as activities such as the rooftop football pitch and climbing walls the centre offers mentoring and counselling services and puts on events such as Youth Zone Entrepreneur , Soup on the Go and Young Leader training sessions, all aimed at improving the prospects of young people in the area and keeping them off the streets and out of trouble.
