My girlfriend and I will be doing a sponsored three peaks challenge to help raise funds for my trip to go and work for the charity YWAM on a DTS. We both love hiking and can't wait to take on this challenge.
Fundraising pageYWAM are a global charity that do all kinds of Christian missionary work. In January I am going to go to Townsville, Australia to work with them for 5 months by taking part in their discipleship training school. This three peaks challenge is to help raise funds for that trip. Here is the GoFundMe description Sponsored Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge!!! On the 24th of January I will be leaving the UK to work with the Christian charity YWAM for 5 months. I will be taking part in a DTS (discipleship training school). This will involve 3 months of training in mission and discipleship in Australia and then 2 months outreach work in Papua New Guinea. I am doing a trekking DTS which will involve living in and hiking through the jungle for 2 months, spreading the gospel amongst tribal Papua New Guinea and helping practically where we are needed within the communities. YWAM are an amazing organisation and I am very excited to embark on this adventure, and the foundational skills and knowledge it will give me will be applicable for the rest of my life. However, it does not come without a cost. I have raised most of the money and I am currently working at a GP surgery, but I will still be short of about £1000. One of the ways that I am fundraising is with this sponsored 3 Peaks Challenge. Esther and I will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on the 11th of January, attempting to get the fastest time that we can.
