University Gloucestershire Rowing Club

We are a university rowing club aiming to raise money for MIND charity. We are a friendly, enthusiastic and committed team of rowers, who train, compete and socialise together. Thanks to our partnership with Gloucester Rowing Club, we are able to train on one of the longest stretches of unlocked water in the country; perfect for both long-distance and sprint training alike in all weather. As a club, mental health and wellbeing are extremely important to us and this year we have decided to raise money for the charity MIND. Each week we are going to be posting about why MIND is such an influential and vital charity and why we want to raise money for it; hopefully raising awareness of mental health issues within society as well. We are aiming to complete the three peaks challenge; the three tallest mountains in the UK in 24hours, and we invite you to grab your rucksacks and get ready to climb aboard as over the next 17 weeks you travel with us as we prepare for our challenge, talking about some issues that we ourselves are dealing with along the way.

Fundraising for MIND

Mind charity, supports and empowers people who are experiencing mental health problems. This is important within today society. 1 in 4 people will experience mental health in any given year and over 25% of people will go through this alone without receiving any support. Therefore I feel and believe in this fundamental charity, supporting them will help to continue there good work, in relieving stigma and helping people to rethink mental health in a more positive light.
