We all work at The Wine Society, the UK's leading online wine retailer for the past 5 years according to Decanter magazine. Last year a team cycled from our UK base in Stevenage to our French base in Montreuil-sur-Mer, and then thought: "What will we do next time?!" So here we are (although only Ben has been fool enough to do both!)
Fundraising pageWe have chosen these three charities because: a. A dear colleague of ours, who fought bravely against a rare peritoneal cancer for four years, and who sadly passed away just two weeks before this challenge, had a target of £100,000 to raise awareness and funds for gynaecological cancers via The Eve Appeal, among other cancer charities. b. The daughter of a member of our support crew has had severe mental health problems, and The Benevolent (the UK drinks trade charity) has helped greatly in funding some of her treatment. c. As a business we want to give back to our local community, and we do so through the Stevenage Community Trust which is a network of businesses who offer support to and grants for our town's most needy people, families and facilities.
