Fundraising for Upper School, Burua, India

In July 2016, 24 pupils from Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls and 18 boys from Monmouth School will be spending a month in the Zanskar area of India, accompanied by 6 members of staff. As part of the expedition, the group will spend a week acclimatising in the village of Burua, working at Upper School which was founded in 1997 by HMSG's Headmistress, Caroline Pascoe (who is also leading the expedition). We will be teaching, painting, plastering and carrying general repairs at the school. Since its foundation, Upper Valley School has grown from having 6 children aged 5 to now having 142 children aged between 3 and 17. The facilities have grown from one room to a facility of 8 classrooms.
