Some of us were on a weekend away in the countryside and hatched a plan to the do the national three peaks challenge. Then it spread to friends and family. We now have two 'sub-groups'. One based predominantly in the south of England and the other in Leicester. This is a personal challenge and an opportunity to bring people closer together through training, organisation and team work. It's a goal that has motivated improvements in physical fitness and work-life balance.
We may collect for different causes close to our hearts. Several of us would like to contribute to mountain rescue and charities that protect the countryside so that it can be responsibly enjoyed. We are not being fixed about charity collection as we are aware there are many factors that could derail the challenge. Prepare for the worst... hope for the best!
The National Three Peaks Challenge takes in the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, often in 24 hours.
