West Midland Safari Hiking for Hunting Dogs

This team consists of wildlife champions, who all have backgrounds in animal keeping and strong aspirations to contribute to in-situ conservation of the very species they care for at West Midland Safari Park. The gentlemen in this team have all worked directly with painted dogs, whilst the only female of the group is totally smitten with this species!

Fundraising for Painted Dog Conservation

Painted Dog Conservation is committed to conserving this beautiful and enigmatic yet endangered canid in Zimbabwe, which is one of the last strongholds in Africa for painted dogs. The aim of the charity, which has been established for over twenty years, is to create an environment where these dogs can thrive. Their specific conservation efforts are rehabilitation for injured dogs, reintroduction, pack monitoring and the deployment of anti-poaching units, which benefits many other species besides painted dogs. The money raised by West Midland Safari Park will all go to support an anti-poaching unit. Besides these particular conservation programs, one of the core beliefs of the charity, is to understand and communicate with the local communities. This is essential to the success of conservation initiatives globally.
