Eastern Block

Some of you may have already been there or not, when you get this urge to simply do something you haven’t attempted previously and fulfill a “gap”, push the boundaries or your luck, probably more appropriately put – well, for Joanna and I that has materialized in signing up for a little bit of a challenge – on Saturday the 13th of September we shall attempt completing the 3 Peaks Challenge. The National Three Peaks Challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours – we shall start with Ben Nevis in Scotland, followed by Scafell Pike in the Lake District and ending with Snowdon in Wales. Joanna, myself and Victoria Fenyes or the Eastern Block (Poland, Romania and Hungary) as I like to shorten it to, have organized this ourselves and we will also be driving approximately 1046 miles as well as walking (climbing) approximately 27 miles. The driving part is the ultimate extreme of the challenge as mostly this challenge involves a designated driver. We would like to take this opportunity to raise a little bit of cash for Make-a-Wish Foundation UK http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/ which is our chosen charity. Please bear in mind we are funding this ourselves so every penny will be directly donated to the foundation in hopes some very unfortunate children get to celebrate what is so amazing about life – opportunity!
