International Alpine Alliance

We are a group of seven hikers and three support members (Terry King, and Richard and Kim Barnes), representing four countries. Our goal is to work as a team to raise awareness and support for the British Heart Association in memory of Marc Southton and for Contact the Elderly.

Fundraising for The British Heart Association and Contact the Elderly

British Heart Foundation – chosen in memory of our highly respected friend and colleague, Marc Southon, who sadly died in June 2012, due to a faulty heart valve. The team of walkers and supporters are dedicating this challenge to the memory of Marc, who would most certainly have joined us on this venture had he been alive, and who we feel sure will be with us in spirit. Contact the Elderly –many of us have elderly relatives who need a lot of support in their latter years – this charity provides much needed companionship for elderly people who live alone and do not have family / friends to provide this.
