There's 7 members to our group and we all come from the Sussex area, down south near Brighton, apart from Emma who grew up in Newcastle and now lives and works down here with us. Four members of the group (Matthew, Gemma, Emma and i Amanda) work together in a Veterinary practice called Ark Veterinary Clinic in Burgess Hill/Hassocks. Joining us is my husband Mark, Emma's partner Chris and Matthew's partner Stephanie. We're all good friends and socialize together a lot out of work. We're taking on the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge to raise money for St Peter and St James hospice (a local hospice) and Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of my Dad. On the 14th April 2012 the 7 members of The Ark 3 peak challenge successfully completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks in 11 hours and 58 minutes. We were all very pleased with the result as for us the challenge was just to complete the walk and to find out we had completed it within 12 hours we were over the moon. Certainly for most of us it was hard work, tiring and emotional but to complete it was such a massive achievement and an experience we will never forget.
Fundraising pageWe're raising money for St Peter and St James hospice and Pancreatic Cancer UK. The reason for this is my father,Peter Holmes, sadly passed away in St Peter and James Hospice on 24th December 2011 with pancreatic cancer. My family and i were so overwhelmed with the love, care and support they gave to my dad the 2 weeks he was there. As a big thank you we want to raise as much money as we can for them to continue the care to other people that they gave to my Dad.We're always raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK so they can continue research into Pancreatic Cancer.
