We are a group of friends from Wiltshire, Dorset & Hampshire who are looking to complete this challenge for our own personal sense of achievement, but also for the purpose of raising money for The Inspire Foundation, which I have a particular interest in, after my Uncle had an accident whilst on holiday damaging his spinal cord, leaving him paralysed for the rest of his life. Our team come from all different backgrounds, some being farmers, full time mothers, financial consultants,to retail managers, but all with the same goal - to raise money for "INSPIRE".
The loss of function in the body caused by spinal cord injury would be a major blow to most people. Yet with a well planned rehabilitation many spinal cord injured recover to lead a full life. INSPIRE recognises that a cure will be found to repair the damaged spinal cord but in the meantime, it funds research projects which are designed to lead to an improvement in the quality of life.
