Stephens VHL Warriors

We are three ordinary chaps taking on a more than ordinary walk in order to raise money for an extra ordinary cause. Since the age of 18, our sister, Kayleigh, has been affected by VHL. Initially, the diagnosis came from pins and needles in the hand, which has resulted over years to Kay becoming a tetraplegic and a fulltime wheelchair user. Kay is unable to walk unaided, unable to live a normal life and is unable to walk her daughter to school. We are aiming to climb the UK's three highest peaks in an attempt to raise as much money and awareness for this great cause which is affecting families all over the UK.

Fundraising for VHL Alliance

VHL, or von Hippel-Lindau is a build-up of tumours in different parts of the body. Previously, it was believed that VHL would target only one area, however, today we understand that these tumours can now affect 7 other areas of the body including the eyes and spinal chord. These tumours are caused by a flaw in one gene, the VHL gene. VHL Alliance are working tirelessly in order to find a cure, as well as supporting those affected by VHL, including the families of those diagnosed.
