Fundraising for Heaven Hill Academy

Heaven Hill Academy is the first private school in Nepal to provide free education. Founded by Shamser Thapa in 2014, the school gives opportunities to the children of Gaunshahar, a community that is of the lowest and poorest caste. Shamser wants to ensure that these children can have a quality education by making the school accessible for those that can’t afford it and by giving school supplies including pencils, books, textbooks and uniforms. Because of this, Heaven Hill relies heavily on donations and the generosity of others. Shamser is a real visionary, adopting a modern teaching style that includes positive reinforcement, creative library lessons and physical activities. Importantly, Heaven Hill is the first non-violent school in Nepal, promoting a healthy relationship with learning without the fear of making mistakes. Shamser aims to spread this message across the country, inspiring other teachers and schools to change their relationship with education. All the money that Chester and I raise will be going directly to the school to help the children’s education. We are really grateful for any contribution that you can make and will do our best to update you all whilst we are out there. If you would like to support Heaven Hill, but cannot contribute financially, we would appreciate it if you could share the page as this can make a big difference. We are really excited to see what Shamser can achieve at Heaven Hill. This school is a truly inspiring and exceptional place that could be the start of real change in Nepal’s education system. Any donations you can make will go a long way in improving these children’s lives, giving them the opportunities they deserve.
