Three Peaks Challenge

I do appreciate the recommended party number is 4 but I can assure you out of respect for the emergency services and other volunteers we will not put ourselves at unnecessary risk. We are members of Mountaineering Ireland and have completed our Mountain Skills 1 and 2 Courses. We are highly proficient at map reading and using our compasses. On long or short hikes we always include the necessary kit which in Ireland includes gloves and suncream and I understand the Dales has similar changeable weather. Although we plan on following the route per the website we will also include suitable exit points as part of our planning. This way if the weather changes or we think we won't complete the challenge we can exit safely. I have a full route card prepared so we can breakdown the route in detail and make additional notes. My parents will not be hiking with us but I will check in with them regularly as well so they know our progress and they will have a copy of our route map. I am not a very fast walker so I will be taking my time even it means we will take longer than the 12hours. Above all I have been saying for over 20years I want to see the Yorkshire Dales so whether we complete to challenge or not I am looking forward to seeing as much as we can.
