In Summer 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) event, it happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country. I have been selected from a large number of applicants to represent Leicestershire Scouts as part of the wider UK contingent going to Korea. My journey to SaeManGeum starts with an 18-month fundraising activity to get me there. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an adventure to bring back skills and stories to share with the young Beavers, Cubs and Scouts of my local community. Over the next 18 months, I will be organising, taking part and running various activities and events to help get me there. Most weekends I can be found washing cars for a donation, organising local coffee mornings or training for my biggest challenge of doing the three peaks in Yorkshire this may. I would be grateful for any sponsorship or donation help I receive.
