The Peaky Hikers

Two Yorkshire lasses taking on the National 3 Peaks. We wanted to do something that would challenge us but at the same time use nature, outdoors and walking within the challenge because that has been a key part of staying ‘sane’ over the past year, so we thought doing the National Three Peaks would be the perfect fit!

Fundraising for The Jordan Legacy

We have decided to support The Jordan Legacy CIC as our chosen charity for this challenge, whilst we wanted to do this for “fun” we figured it would be only right to raise awareness at the same time and it is a charity we both wanted to support. The charity is set up by Steve Phillip who I met back in September 2019 at The Business Culture Hull. I don’t even have the words to describe Steve, other than he’s a genuine guy and following his journey has been an eye opener! In December 2019 Steve lost his son to suicide. From that day Steve wanted to set something up that could help people that are suffering with their mental health and well-being, and it’s main aim is to provide help and support to people that are having a difficult time, whether they are feeling anxious, lonely, stressed or having suicidal thoughts. I guess a reason we picked this charity is because mental health affects everyone, it doesn’t discriminate and it’s something we’ve all had to work on through the pandemic.
