Fundraising for Hand On Heart

The last two years have exacerbated the fragility of the communities that we live in and have highlighted the need for us all to come together to work towards a fairer and more inclusive society. The number of families accessing food banks and shelters has risen exponentially, the financial effect of Covid-19 and numerous lockdowns is widely discussed but often the mental health, welfare and education of children is not given the importance that it deserves. Hand On Heart have launched Back To School Project to coincide with the start of new School Term in September 2021. The aim is to provide stationary filled backpacks to children from low income families to ensure they have the equipment needed to learn. With this in mind, a group of 8 friends/volunteers have decided (unwisely perhaps) to attempt the Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise funds for the HoH Back to School Project 2021. WHERE WILL THE FUNDS GO TO? Ultimately, however, the hard work will be rewarded with the knowledge that they have set out to raise funds for such an amazing project. All funds raised will go directly to the project, the back packs will contain as standard; reusable water bottle, stationary sets (notebook, ring binder, pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, highlighters, pencil case, folder, dividers, glue stick, sticky notes, ruler and sticky tape. Primary school children will also receive activity books and a lunchbox. Secondary school children will receive all the items above with the addition of a scientific calculator, maths set and scissors./
