3 Peaks in 3 Days Challenge: for Hope Rescue

We have fostered for Hope Rescue, and adopted both cats and dogs from animal rescue charities over the years. Covid has brought with it a boom of ‘pandemic puppy’ buying, that has resulted in record numbers of dogs being abandoned as their new ‘owners’ return to work. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/world-55719338.amp We know first hand how hard Hope Rescue work to re-home the dogs in their care to good, stable and loving homes, and are embarking upon this challenge to raise awareness and support their cause.

Fundraising for Hope Rescue

We feel passionately that our role is not simply to deal with the consequences of irresponsible ownership, but to also tackle the root causes and reduce the number of dogs needing to access the animal welfare system. We also believe in the valuable pastoral and therapeutic role that dogs can play in our local community. Our Hope in the Community programme focuses on helping both pets and people. We offer supported volunteering and employment placements at both our rescue centre and charity shop, working with several third sector organisations representing disadvantaged groups. Working with Local Authorities and Housing Associations we offer a subsidised canine respite scheme to provide affordable boarding for dogs belonging to owners in crisis, including those fleeing domestic abuse, made homeless or going into hospital.
