On 23rd December 2020, our beautiful Nicola, our Nicoleye, our Bellend, left this world after a truly brave and inspirational battle with cancer. She really was one in a million and her passing has deeply impacted all of the many, many lives that she touched with her infectious sense of fun and positive outlook on life. While she wouldn't have wanted to be defined by the disease that took her, she always joked that she really was one in a million due to the rarity of the sarcoma she was fighting. We have decided to take on the sizeable challenge of completing the London Walking Marathon followed by the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge 2 weeks later on 19th June 2021. Are we mad? Yes probably, (but all the best people are!). We wanted to do something epic as a tribute to our amazing girl and only fitting that we should be walking to raise money for Sarcoma UK to continue this legacy.

Sarcomas are extremely rare, and with multiple different types, this makes them a highly complex entity to diagnose and treat. Nic very much understood the importance of research and clinical trials, and took part herself in two different trials while on her treatment journey - the gift of which will help future patients diagnosed with sarcoma.
