#climbingforclarky

We are a group of six made up of family and close friends. We have trained for this since early 2020, four of the group have completed the Yorkshire three peaks previously so there is no doubt the group will be in amazing hands. All equipment has been bought, t-shirts have been purchased, food talks have commenced and even our mascot doggy will have a bandana on the day as he watches us set off from the car where our caterers will stay haha.

Fundraising for Abbie's Fund

We are climbing the Yorkshire three peaks for a charity called Abbie's Fund, the charity was first made in 2010 by an amazing family in memory of a beautiful little girl that was born sleeping, this is a local charity to Kingston Upon Hull and provides amazing support to families who's children are stillborn or for families who suffer miscarriages, they provide memory boxes for the families, as well as continual support through an emotionally difficult time. This challenge is been completed in memory of Ben Clark who passed away suddenly aged 25 in February of last year. Before Ben passed away his aim was to complete the Yorkshire three peaks and raise money for a chosen charity. As a family we decided this charity was more then deserving of the fundraising for the following reasons, they are a local family with amazing hearts, memory boxes bring a lot of comfort as we know from experience. When we lost Ben myself and my mum created our own memory boxes that bring us comfort on really difficult days, its amazing that someone else out there is selflessly doing this for others. Within the family we also have a student midwife which makes this charity close to her and all of our hearts. There is no charity we would rather complete this walk for and we know Ben will be up there beaming at the charity that has been chosen and that we are doing this in his memory.
