Hiking the National 3 Peaks Challenge

<div>I have always loved walking and have over the years hiked all over the UK, but I have never attempted a hike quite like this. I am not the fittest person in the world and like many people attempting big trips have tried to do as much training as possible while fitting it around a hectic life. However we are only on this rock once, so what’s the point in having these bodies if we aren't going to use them at least once to do something a little different.</div><div>Which brings me onto the three peaks challenge. Something I have always thought of doing, but I have never really liked the idea of visiting these stunning locations for a short hop up the peaks. So why not hike in between them and see everything in one big trip.<br></div><div>The trip will see me cover over 400 miles including climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales over a mixture of roads and trails including the West Highland Way, Cumbria Way and many others. The trip will be unsupported, so I will be carrying a lot of my own food and equipment to camp along the way.<br></div>

Fundraising for Cool Earth, Mind & Northamptonshire Carers

I really do believe that leading a physically active life has helped me with my own mental health over the years. Which is why I raising money for the charity Mind who help provide support to people who are brave enough to try and improve their own mental health. I also want to raise money for Northampton Carers for the amazing help they provide to unpaid carers who are looking after elderly or disabled relatives. Another charity that I do believe in is Cool Earth who help protect rainforests around the world by paying local communities to protect their natural habit from illegal logging and poaching.
