Team Murphy's Street Child Sierra Leone

I'm Sue, mom to Beth, Jon and Rosie. We are doing the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for my volunteering trip to Sierra Leone in July. I am an early years teacher and leader in an inner city primary school, Beth is in her second year of teaching, also in a primary school, Jon is in the second year of a music degree and Rosie is in sixth form at a specialist school for acting. We are all looking forward to the challenge and will be training at the gym, through our usual sporting activities and by completing some long walks in the local area, including the Shropshire Hills.

Fundraising for Street Child

The focus of the charity is on low-cost sustainable solutions that make a real difference to the children we support. Since 2008, we have helped over 200,000 children to go to school and learn and supported over 15,000 families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term. I will spend two weeks in schools helping to train teachers, so that more children can attend school and receive a high quality education. I will be taking a minimum of £1000 with me, which will support the work of Street Child.
