We are students at the University of York, all wanting to raise money for our respective charities which include: Fundraising for a trip to Sri Lanka, fundraising for disabled children and fundraising to pay for our dogs spinal operation.
Fundraising pageFriday (1st February) our pug Bruno went for his usual walk but unfortunately he couldn't walk properly and he was slightly dragging his legs. He progressively got worse until he was unable to walk, run or go to the toilet and he started crying from the pain. On Saturday (2nd February) Bruno was taken to the vets where he was given an injection of metacam, an anti-inflammatory painkiller. After several more vets trips, Bruno was referred to a specialist in Newmarket for a consultation. Bruno had to stay the night and await an MRI the following day. It was discovered that Bruno had two slipped discs and needed an operation. However, this came with a great vets bill- £4914.51 to be exact. It is for this reason that I will be climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks with some other students from the University of York to help cover the cost for Bruno. I have never done anything like this before and many people have already been very supportive. Sponsorship currently stands at £130 on my Just Giving page (12/02/19) but we are desperate to keep going!
The Yorkshire Peaks Challenge involves climbing Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, often within 12 hours.
