We're all from the Manchester area and walking to raise money to support Ellie's voluntary work in Borneo next year.
Fundraising pageIn July 2019, Ellie will travel to Kudat, a rural village on the northern tip of Borneo. It is one of the poorest areas of the country. As part of a team of volunteers, I will work on community projects including school renovation and digging foundations for new community buildings, as well as organising a sports event for the local children. This is a poor area untouched by tourism, and we aim to improve the children’s quality of life and education with our work. A strong ethos of the volunteer organisation is that the trip will be self funded and your sponsorship of my Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in October 2018 will help cover the costs of my travel and accommodation whilst in Borneo.
The Yorkshire Peaks Challenge involves climbing Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, often within 12 hours.
