Up & Doune the Three Peaks

We are a team of 16 colleagues, friends and family from the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone who have set ourselves the challenge of climbing the national three peaks in honour of our ten year anniversary and in aid of the Ninewells Cancer Campaign. This charity is extremely close to our Chief Driving Consultant, Gordon, who has been fundraising for over six years and has so far raised over £30,000! We are looking forward to supporting him and are hoping to raise lots more money for this worthy cause. For more information please visit www.longwaydoune.co.uk where you will find all of Gordon’s individual fundraising efforts. The group ranges from early twenties to mid-fifties and covers all aspects of the business from technicians, to driving consultants, to managers. Despite having limited experience in mountain walking, we are determined to complete this challenge in a sub twenty-four hour time. Joining us at the start of our challenge are Gordon’s wife, Andrea and eleven year old daughter, Lucy who will both be climbing Ben Nevis with us. Both Gordon and Lucy have been through a tough journey together and have inspired this challenge to raise even more money for Ninewells Cancer Campaign.

Fundraising for Ninewells Cancer Campaign

The Ninewells Cancer Campaign (NCC) and its team lead the field in genetic cancer research and were key in Lucy’s treatment. NCC is a Dundee based charity established more than 20 years ago with the aim of raising money to support the world leading cancer research being carried out at Ninewells Hospital and medical school in Dundee. The NCC has also provided substantial support for improved facilities for cancer patients in Dundee, including provision of a dedicated entrance to the Princess Alexandra Centre, the outpatient chemotherapy treatment area with Tayside cancer centre in Ninewells hospital.
