The knackered old birds!

On the 13th of December 2017, Joanne's little boy William, who is 4 years old was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He has been very brave with all the drugs/operations/ongoing treatment. Its a long journey for him, approximately 3 years of treatment to come and he is initially responding well. Throughout the trauma of diagnosis and treatment, they have received such fantastic help and support from CLIC Sargent, the leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. They have helped the family enormously for which they will be eternally grateful. As a group of friends, for William, we have organised our own Yorkshire 3 peak challenge on 12 May, to raise money for CLIC Sargent. Please give as little or as much as you can to help further the support of this fantastic charity.

Fundraising for CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. Their care teams have been providing specialist support across the UK for years. Cancer affects every part of life – relationships, confidence, money, school, work. CLIC Sargent care teams will fight tirelessly to limit the damage cancer causes. They will listen, and ask the right questions, so that they can provide the right support, tailored to each young person and family. This might mean arranging a CLIC Sargent grant or helping young people and families get the benefits they are entitled to. Coordinating care so that some medical procedures can happen at home, or arranging free accommodation in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home. Or helping young cancer patients and families keep in touch with school, college or work to keep life as normal as possible. CLIC Sargent will also fight for young lives with cancer by taking what they tell us about the impact of cancer on their lives to the government, service providers and policy makers to improve things and make real change happen.
