We are completing the walk in the memory or Ross and Nathan who are family members that have passed away as a result of alcohol and drug addiction. Unfortunately Addiction comes with much shame and stigma attached to it but what we are trying to get across is that each addiction comes with a story. We are raising funds for a local charity called the Luke and Marcus Trust who campaign in schools to raise awareness of drugs and alcohol and prevent addiction in the first place.
This Charity is no profit and a very small local charity trying to make a difference. All the members of the charity have lost loved ones to addiction and their stories can be very harrowing at times. Addiction comes with a massive stigma attached to it and not much help or support. Addiction comes in many forms ie alcohol, drug, gambling. The main goal of the charity is prevention and not cure. They go to local schools and discuss saying no at the start. We are holding a Fun day on the 2nd September with Raffles and Auctions to raise further funds
