We are a group of lads from South Wales who did the Welsh 3 Peaks last year. Spurred on by that experience, and by the need to raise funds for good friends who need medical treatment, we signed up to do the National 3 Peaks Challenge. Fitness levels and age vary within the team!
Richard Lawson suffers from Polyneuropathy. His medication alone costs the NHS £3500 a month). He receives excellent care at the Jill Rowe Ambulatory Unit in Morriston Hospital so money will be raised towards that unit. Phil Clark suffers from EDS, Cranial and Cervical instability and Chiari Malformation. Spinal fusion surgery is the only option. The NHS in Wales or England do not currently have the resources or expertise, therefore Phil will have to go to Spain for his treatment, at a cost of £55,000
23 hours and 20 minutes
The National Three Peaks Challenge takes in the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, often in 24 hours.
