Sittingbourne Slackers

Myself and a team of 14 people, all of which are either family or close friends, are attempting the National 3 Peaks Challenge. This will be in aid of fundraising for an 11 year old boy of the name Harry Worrell. He has been diagnosed with the degenerative rare disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3, or more commonly known as motor Neurones disease. At his present state, he does have partial functionality of movement but with great difficulty.

Fundraising for Harry Worrel Charity

Harry Worrel has been diagnosed with the degenerative rare disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3, or more commonly known as motor Neurones disease. At his present state, he does have partial functionality of movement but with great difficulty. By the age of 14, his condition could be so debilitating that he may potentially loose his ability to walk. On that premise, his family are trying to raise £100,000 to enable him to have a revolutionary treatment only made available in the U.S called Spinraza treatment. Potentially, this could prolong, treat or even give him partial or possible full functionality over his movement, speech etc. The NHS at present cannot treat this devastating disease so it is vital that he can have an opportunity as soon as possible to receive this treatment in America.
