Gin O'Clock Team
About the group
We are a group friends from North Wales (aged 24-27) who have all recently been through an extremely difficult time. In March 2016 we all lost our best friend, Mike Davies. We want to do something to raise money and awareness around the subject of mental health, depression and anxiety in young adults.
As a group of friends, we were frequent partakers in nights out. Our favourite and also least favourite drink being a shot of Gin. Quarter to the hour was Gin O’Clock (or any time of hour after a few). Not only do we want to raise money and awareness; we want to raise three more Gin’s to our friend.

Fundraising for Papyrus – Prevention of Young Suicide
This has been an extremely difficult time, not only for us as a friendship group, but for his family and for everybody who had the privilege of knowing him. We can only imagine what he must have been going through. It is something nobody should ever have to experience, yet it is one of the biggest killers in young males... By supporting this charity, hopefully, we can help others in similar situations.
Taken from Papyrus Website - “Suicide is the biggest killer of young people – male and female – under 35 in the UK. In 2014, 597 young people between the ages of 10 and 24 took their own lives. Under the age of 35, the number rose to 1,556. That equates to over four per day. Every year many thousands more attempt or contemplate suicide, harm themselves or suffer alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling.
We are the national charity for the prevention of young suicide.
We draw from the experience of many who have been touched personally by young suicide across the UK and speak on their behalf in our campaigns and in our endeavours to save young lives. Together we believe that with appropriate support and education, many young suicides can be prevented.”
