Eating disorders are a serious mental illness affecting one in 85 people in the UK. Beat is the UK’s leading charity supporting anyone affected by eating disorders or difficulties with food, weight and shape. Beat provides Helplines for adults and young people, and online support including information, message boards and a Help finder facility for finding clinics, therapists and support groups. They also provide expert knowledge, education and training to health and social care professionals and support and encourage research into eating disorders.
