Hearing Hope for Livy

In April 2016, at two weeks old my daughter Alivia-Ellen, was diagnosed with mixed, severe hearing loss. I will complete the three peaks alone to raise money, and challenge myself, but also show my daughter the strength of adversity.

Fundraising for National Deaf Children's Society

In April 2016, at two weeks old my daughter Alivia-Ellen, was diagnosed with mixed, severe hearing loss. She can hear something, but only very very little, and so now will be fitted with Hearing Aids - from 7 weeks old. Although not the end of the world, this was incredibly difficult news to take in, knowing the adversity Alivia-Ellen will now face in her life, and as a parent accepting there is nothing you can do to help or change the situation. NDCS were our first port of support, we registered as they offer 24 hour support for families who need it, but also for us sent out support workers to discuss and advise on how we will need to parent Alivia-Ellen as she develops through her childhood. I want to raise money for NDCS so they can continue their great work with family support, but also the work they do in breaking down barriers for deaf children. I wanted to do a challenge that was a combination of physical and mental tests, and so I will push myself to complete the three peaks in 24 hours
