Training 2000

On Saturday 18th May 2013 a group of 8 apprentices from Nuvia Ltd, Sellafield Ltd, Babcock and Apeks Marine completed the Three Peaks Challenge. They set out to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours to raise money for Training 2000 to purchase a defibrillator for the engineering workshop. They experienced deep snow on the summit of Ben Nevis, thick cloud on Scafell and total darkness climbing Snowdon. In addition they encountered closed roads due to heavy flooding on route to Scafell resulting in loss of an hour, yet managed to complete it with 20 minutes to spare which made the achievement even more satisfying! They would like to say a special thanks to the companies for sponsoring them and Picow Engineering for supplying a minibus and fuel for the journey.
