Altitude with Attitude

We are a group of Army Wives who over the past 18 weeks have been put through our paces for this very tough challenge. Some of us have started a fitness regime from scratch as well as having to lose weight before the event. Added to our challenge is the added difficulty that some of our husbands are away for the duration of this challenge, so many of us are juggling jobs, children and a tough fitness regime. But we all feel that the challenges facing us are insignificant compared to the challenges faced by the people who benefit from the two charities that we are supporting.

Fundraising for Helen & Douglas House / Felix Fund

We are raising money for two special charities Helen & Douglas House has the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions and support their families. The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family. Felix Fund supports bomb disposal experts and their families. The Charity funds therapeutic breaks for bomb disposal teams returning from Afghanistan and other welfare and rehabilitation facilities for EOD units. We also provide hardship grants for individual members of ‘the bomb disposal family’ in need.
