St Albans Junior Young Farmers Club

This is a group of young men that wanted a challenge and to raise funds to support those not so fortunate as themselves. The boys are involved in the whole planning, organising fundraising events etc. to raise money for both the Herts YFC and Herts Young Homeless (HYH). The boys chose HYH due to the increase in homeless they have been seeing in the local area, hearing about school peers going through hardship due to being homeless, living in temporary accommodation etc. They have committed to attending training weekends to learn new skills in map and compass work and to ensure they are physically and mentally fit to complete the challenge. As club leader I am so proud of these boys for coming to me to support their expedition. Myself and another parent Andy Grovestock are support vehicles and will be transporting the boys between the peaks and cheering them on all the way.

Fundraising for Herts Young Farmers and Herts Young Homeless

The funds raised from their challenge will be split between Herts YFC to offer more young people opportunities in the future but the main charity chosen by the boys was Herts Young Homeless. This is a charity that supports young people at risk of or already impacted by homelessness.
